SUMMARY:Stress\, Pain & Disease by Simone Sittig
DESCRIPTION:WHEN STRESS BECOMES PAIN AND DISEASE: A VAGUS NERVE APPROACH TO MEASURING\, UNDERSTANDING AND REBALANCING THE BODY’S STRESS RESPONSE THROUGH FUNCTIONAL NEUROSCIENCE TECHNIQUES\nby Simone Sittig\, BSc Med Hons Biokinetics and Exercise Science 2003 UCT \nThis session will focus on the relationship between chronic stress and physical symptoms\, offering insights into how the vagus nerve influences stress physiology and how Functional Neuromuscular Techniques can be used for assessment and rebalancing. \nBiography\nSimone is the Founder of the Brain.Body.Balance. technique and Director of Education for the B3 Academy and creator of the ‘Brain-Based pain release workshop’. She helps Physiotherapists\, Physical therapists\, Personal Trainers and Therapists turbo-charge their clients’ results with her B3 techniques in movement and therapy\, derived from Functional Neurology\, myofascial release\, trigger point therapy\, neuromuscular therapy and neurokinetic exercises. \nShe is the developer of the Brain.Body.Balance. myofascial release & neuromuscular assessment technique and has have been teaching & practicing B3 in Cape Town\, Berlin & worldwide for the past 15 years. She studied a medical honours degree at the University of Cape Town & qualified in Biokinetics & Exercise Science. She is a scientist at heart but always stay curious to the mysticism of energy & healing. \nHer passion is in neuro-science & finding ways to retrain the brain in movement\, pain management & wellbeing. Her purpose is to help people ease pain and she has supported hundreds of clients on their healing journey\, often cases that were medically hopeless. \nShe believes that healing starts with a belief. Your body heals. Instantly & repeatedly. \nQualifications: \n\nBSc Med Hons Biokinetics and Exercise Science 2003\nUCTBCom Sports Management 2002\nThomas Myers Anatomy Trains Myofascial release 2009\nZ-Health 2014\nNeurokinetic Therapy 2016\n\nBookings\nFee: \n\nmembers: R200\nnon-members: R300\n\nDeposit to SASIM Account number: 1357003986\, Nedbank. \nPlease reference your name and the talk. \nSend proof of payment to elma@integrativemedicine.co.za

SUMMARY:Electromagnetic Radiation Syndrome by Dr Magda Havas
DESCRIPTION:TRIGGERS\, CAUSAL AGENTS\, PRECURSORS AND TREATMENTS FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION SYNDROME (EMR-S)\nby Dr. Madga Havas\, Ph.D. \nExposure to radiofrequency radiation has been increasing for decades and a growing population is suffering from exposure at levels well below international guidelines. This form of electromagnetic pollution can affect all systems in the body and consequently symptoms range from neurological\, cardiovascular\, hormonal\, immunology\, etc. \nDoctors unfamiliar with EMR-S may misdiagnose their patients with other illnesses like multiple sclerosis\, for example. Without knowing the cause of EMR-S\, simply alleviating symptoms is seldom adequate for full recovery. The aim of this presentation is to help individuals recover from EMR-S by understanding what precursors may be contributing to their symptoms. \nFive precursor categories are identified: physical trauma to the nervous system; exposure to toxic chemicals; biological infections; acute or chronic exposure to either ionizing or non-ionizing radiation; and an impaired immune system. Recovering from electromagnetic pollution requires deactivating the trigger(s) and the precursors suggest ways this may be accomplished. \nThe acronym R2ID3 may help physicians decide which treatments are likely to be most effective for their patients. \nThe letters signify the following: \n\n(R1) reduce exposure to pollutants\n(R2) rebalance limbic system\n(I) enhance immune system\n(D1) detoxify body\n(D2) test DNA for patient-specific detoxification protocol\n(D3) employ dental procedures to remove infections and metals.\n\nHelping patients recover and minimizing exposure to electromagnetic pollution is of utmost importance from a public health perspective. \nBiography \nMagda Havas\, Ph.D. is Professor Emerita at Trent University in Peterborough\, Canada. She has conducted research as an environmental toxicologist for 51 years and is internationally recognized\, both for her previous work on acid rain and metal pollution and for her current research on the biological effects of electromagnetic pollution and the beneficial effects of electrotherapies (31 years). \nDr. Havas works with people who have developed an intolerance to electromagnetic frequencies and advises health care providers on how to diagnose and treat people with this sensitivity. She has authored more than 200 publications\, has given more than 400 invited talks in 30 countries and at 25 universities\, and is co-author of Public Health SOS: The Shadow Side of the Wireless Revolution. \nDr. Havas serves as a science advisor to various government and non-government organizations and has provided expert testimony on the health effects of power lines\, occupational magnetic field exposure and radiofrequency radiation in Canada\, U.S.\, U.K.\, and South Africa. \nBookings \nFee: \n\nmembers: R200\nnon-members: R300\n\nTo book\, deposit fee and send POP to elma@integrativemedicine.co.za or via WhatsApp to Elma. \nContributions to SASIM Account number: 1357 003986 Nedbank Stellenbosch.
