Practicing integrative medicine is more complex than learning a new skill, it requires a different way to approach, and journey alongside our patients. The talk will be an exploration of these approaches and how to cultivate them.

Janine qualified as a medical doctor at UCT. Afterwards she obtained Diplomas in Obstetrics and Child Health, and specialised in Family Medicine. She left the public sector after burning out, and opened an integrative practice, training in reiki and mindfulness, and attaining a professional qualification in homeopathy.

Janine runs regular mindfulness courses, including one specifically tailored to health care practitioners.

She is a SASUM EXCO member, a Director of St Bernard’s Hospice, and Chairperson of IMISA (Institute for Mindfulness of SA).
