Histamine Intolerance by Marenel Pansegrouw

April 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

HISTAMINE INTOLERANCE AND DIETARY/TREATMENT PROTOCOLS

by Marenel Pansegrouw RD(SA), Bdietetics 09 UP, Bdip Hospitality 05 TUT

Summary:

Often dismissed or misunderstood, histamine intolerance can be more complex than it appears. Rather than being a standalone issue, it may point to deeper underlying imbalances – such as an overwhelmed central nervous system, a distressed or dysregulated gut, or methylation pathways that aren’t adequately supported.

These factors can reduce the body’s ability to break down histamine efficiently, leading to a wide range of confusing symptoms that vary from person to person. Understanding these interconnected systems offers useful insight into why histamine reactions occur and helps guide more targeted, sustainable dietary and lifestyle approaches.

Biography:

Marenel studied at UP, Bdietetics. Started her career in the military and then found herself in private practice since 2014. Her practice is located in Midstream.

Marenel is a curious mind and completed many practical courses like SOS approach to feeding for problem feeders (2018), various diabetes, renal and gut nutrition courses and in 2020 completed her integrative functional nutrition academy(IFNA) course under the guidance of Kathie Swift. Marenel became interested with histamine intolerance and MCAS after seeing a surge in her case load with patients.
