by Dr. Marna Turner
Mould is a ubiquitous presence in our environment, yet it is often overlooked and not well understood. Despite its prevalence, the health impacts of mould exposure are frequently underestimated. Mould can cause a variety of symptoms, including respiratory issues, allergic reactions, and cognitive impairments. Additionally, it can exacerbate the morbidity of other pre-existing conditions, making it a significant health concern.
In this talk, Dr. Turner will delve into the topic of mould and other mycotoxins, with a focus on their toxic effects on human health. Mycotoxins, which are toxic compounds produced by certain types of moulds, can lead to a range of serious health issues. Understanding the specific types of mycotoxins and their mechanisms of action is crucial for effective diagnosis and treatment.
She will also address common mistakes we often make with binding agents. Binding agents are substances used to help remove toxins from the body, but improper use can lead to ineffective treatment or even harm, especially in patients who are particularly sensitive. These patients may have heightened reactions to both the mould itself and the treatments used to combat it.
