Dr Simone Silver graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 2007.

Even as a medical student, she was intrigued by the concept that not only are all the body systems connected in an intricate manner, but that a network of environmental, psychological, hormonal, genetic and dietary factors all influence physical and emotional well-being and propensity for disease.

Over the years, her studying branched into the fields of functional and personalised medicine as well as peri/menopausal care. Her interest in individualised healthcare has since become an inexhaustible passion.

After completing her public health years between Chris Hani Baragwaneth and Johannesburg General Hospital, she first practiced briefly as a GP in a busy private practice before joining the Integrative Medical Centre in Bryanston, where her real journey into Functional/ Integrative medicine was born. Here she was mentored by an expert specialist physician and furthered her functional medicine training through various local and overseas courses. In 2014 she moved to Cape Town and opened her own practice in Gardens – The Hormonal Health & Wellness Centre.

She is currently completing her Fellowship in Anti-aging, Metabolic and Functional medicine through the American Academy of Anti-aging medicine (A4M) and lectures frequently both locally and overseas. She is passionate about empowering people to craft their own health story be it in the consultation room or to a wider audience and is simultaneously involved in health care practitioner education and healthcare delivery evolution with her colleagues.
She values the approach of combing the science of medicine with the ‘soul’ of the patient, individualising and tailoring her care to each unique patient.

She values self-growth and awareness and is excited by life’s daily opportunities for continued development and possibility.
