Summary:

Where do ethics sit in the expanding world of complementary and integrative medicine? This talk explores responsibility, scope, informed consent, practitioner integrity, and the subtle pitfalls that arise when working across traditional and non-traditional modalities.

Biography:

Dr van Eeden completed his Ph.D and qualified in Holistic Life Counselling in December 2012 through the University of Sedona. He also holds a Certification in Integrative Medicine from the Institute of Integrative Medicine, USA. Prior to that he qualified as a Legal Business Analyst and worked as such at Webber Wentzel attorneys, combining legal requirements with technical and technological solutions.

He is currently a director at the Golding Institute where a focus is placed on the ethical practice of integrative medicine as well as the education of practitioners in the field. Together with the team at the Golding Institute, he works to provide evidence-based integrative solutions and training for healthcare providers and patients alike. His focus in the institute is research of new solutions and the safe implementation thereof.
