Rethinking Autism

February 12, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

by Dr. David Nossel

Autism is baffling. So many perplexing questions: How is it diagnosed? What causes it? Why is it on the increase? Is it amenable to treatment? How is it treated?

In this presentation Dr David Nossel will (briefly) take you through the more standard approaches to Autism and then (in detail) share with you the more breakthrough perspectives. Typically thought of as a Neurodevelopmental condition, Autism can be understood differently, expensively, betterly as a Cellular Metabolic condition. With this broader approach the causes, manifestations, therapies and treatments become far more deductive, attainable, and most importantly of all, effective.

*Dr David Nossel graduated from Wits Medical School with a MB.BCh degree (as well as a B.Sc in Laboratory Medicine, which he picked up on the way). After his internship he took a bit of a tangent and went to Jerusalem to study religion (for 20 years). He returned to SA in 2009 and worked as a Rabbi until 2018 when he returned to Clinical Medicine.

As a young doctor (in a not so young body) he was invited by one of his former congregants to look into Autism and its various treatment approaches. He was introduced to a Biomedical doctor who opened up his mind and his passion (and clinical practice) to help children and adults with Autism began.
